You'd be surprised how many handcuff keys are out there. They're basically one size fits all. I've found them fastened inside the backs of belts, in wristwatch bands, and in back pockets of BG's.

If you can find a location, a long-shanked padlock might do the job.

Drill a hole through the seat frame that a long shank quality lock will fit through and lock your pistol to it. Frame lock if possible, not trigger guard. Make sure your pistol is securely under the seat and it's almost impossible to defeat. I said almost, not impossible.

Most scum bags breaking into cars are smash and dash type of crooks, they hit quick, take what they want and are gone just as fast. I will take a chance that they won't have na matching cuff key, let alone take the time to get it. The times I leave a gun in my truck in a year can be counted on one hand.
I am sure they could have a matching key to one of my master locks too! You can only do so much.

i know of a few people that have a .30 cal ammo can bolted under the seat of their car. that plus the "ammo can safe" kits should work and cost about the same as a pair of handcuffs.

I've been using the Center of Mass one for a couple of years....works real well.

It fits under the seat of my car.

I spent a night at a friends house, and took the thing inside, tossed it in my overnight bag, and was able to secure my gun for the night, away from my little girls, and his little boys, prying hands.
