Handcuffs
I am a former LEO and I use my old handcuffs. But as AZ says alot of BG's carry keys that work on all handcuffs. That could present a problem. I can't tell you the number of BG's that I took a handcuff key from during their arrest. They do come in handy for BG's.

I've supplied my baby daughter with both a CR-V (98) and a COM safe for her to use while on campus (now in graduate school). No problems and it easily hides under the seat.
If you want accessibility while on the road, just leave it (unlocked) on the pass. seat.
Oh, I've also supplied the pocket gun / ammo / paid permit.
When she's home we often go to the range for practice /fresh ammo.
As a side note, the CR-V has required NO unscheduled maintenance (now 125K miles) and has protected her in two accidents - neither of which were her fault!

If I do have a break-in the thief will bolt with it before he/she break the lock thinking they have my firearm. I put it out of sight but easier to find then my COM. I only use the decoy in high threat locations.
