I have had my CHL since Oregon initiated the program (1991) but just recently started carrying. So where does that put me?

For any who did CCW illegally, please don't post about it on the forum.
I've been carrying for about 4 years.
I just did some checking as I thought I have been carrying in Kentucky for about 10 years, but as I was one of the first in the state to receive it, it has been over 12 years.
But my 7 years in the Army had me very proficient in concealed carry before the law passed here.

10 months. Had I had the pivot point I had a year ago I suspect it would have been longer.
I have been carrying for all of a week now!!![]()
If you want to include Army time we can up that to a lot longer.
Ahh, oh well. I will only increase time from here.

I had my ccw in 1971. I had worked for a lumber company and transported large deposits. The company VP helped me obtain it.
Going on 20 years. It's a little odd seeing the hair turning blonde in the pictures!![]()
I'm real new to it. Fall of 2007. It is a comforting secret. Legally carrying and following the law where ever it is restricted.--RM
When I first got my license, I used to take it to the range in a box, unloaded. Orange County Judges used to put 'restrictions' on your permit. The owner of the range was at the counter when I came in one day and he asks, 'What's in the box?' I tell him it's my gun and he tells me he wants it on my person when I come into his place, "and make sure it's loaded in case you come in here and things aren't right". A State Trooper explained to me (6 years ago) that NY has only TWO types of permits, CARRY and PREMISE. Some judges put little restrictions (, hunting, fishing, target shooting,) on the CARRY permits to discourage people from carrying. But as far as the State Police are concerned, CARRY means just that.
But just to be safe, I've since stood in front of the judge and asked him to UNRESTRICT my license. I think it helped that just before my turn at the bench, a couple of losers who got caught, one was on parole and the other was out on bail, stealing a car and packing 1911's. When I got up he said....."I see no reason why YOU should not have a gun". Only difference, mine was gotten legally.
