Group Says Texas Gun Law Too Weak

The Texas arm of a national group claims the state's gun laws are too loose. With the recent crime here in southeast Texas the group says it's no wonder the state scored a nine out of 100 for having a lack of gun laws.
The Texas Chapter of the Brady Campaign is pushing for more laws restricting criminals from purchasing firearms. President Marsha McCartney says it's an effort to make our communities safer.
McCartney says, "One of the things we need to do is have universal background checks for anyone who is going to purchase a gun, whether it's a newspaper or a gun show."
Jim Hedrick, a local licensed firearms dealer says more laws aren't necessary because guns don't commit crimes, people do and they need to be held accountable.

The Brady Campaign apparently doesn't understand the concept of criminal behavior. They DON'T purchase from FFL dealers, they steal their guns, or purchase from the black market, but the Brady Bunch and so many others are too blind and brainwashed by the media.

If it's bad for the Brady Bunch then it's good for us.

However, it is nice of the Brady bunch to help us out by giving a rating to which states we should consider living in. I think I might send them a letter of thanks.
I will support gun control when you can guarantee all guns are removed from this planet. That includes military and law enforcement. When you can accomplish that, then I will be the last person to lay down my gun. Then I will carry the weapon that replaces the gun.

Law Enforcement doesn't have the money and man power to fully enforce the laws that are already in place. Making more laws is not always the answer.

Hey, politicians gotta make it look like they're doing something. They love those "feel good" measures.
Nothing like taking care of the symptom and not the source of the problem.

Typical of the Brady Bunch and liberals in general. Blame the gun, society, the laws, BUT don't blame the criminal! After all it is societies fault that he chose that way of life. What ever happened to the days when a person was held responsible for their actions??

God help us with the new administration coming into the White House. Who ever it is, the gun whiners and banners are going to push for new bans. We better start getting ready for this next onslaught.

well, if you judge recent events as any indicator (see Joe Horn) I'd say things are pretty good here in TX; criminals are getting shot and killed by the homeowners they are trying to rob.....
And as far as us Texans are concerned, we will not be satisfied until we are number 1 out of 100...
