"It is only as retaliation that force may be used and only against the man who starts its use. No, I do not share his evil or sink to his concept of morality: I merely grant him his choice, destruction, the only destruction he had a right to choose: his own." - John Galt, from Atlas Shrugged
Halting of a criminal's actions will be the reason, same as via any other method. Heaven forbid a councilman should ever deem a criminal's desire to prey on the innocent is more important than each citizen's right to defend against it, with lethal force if need be. The misguided sense of justice in a sitting city council member is what's so disturbing."It is very disturbing," said Councilman Jack Weiss. "If any member of the public is shot with one of these guns or, heaven forbid, a cop is shot with one these guns, what would be the explanation?"
I propose Kimber do up a special 8-unit run, one for each sitting person on that city council, named "The Councilman's Best Friend." Of course, it would be in honor of integrity ... what every councilman should strive for. Decidedly different then the blather coming from him and others, at this point.

Oh no! Not the highly specialized weapons!!!What if someone were to get shot with one!? How is the .45 slug coming out of the SIS any different than the slug out of, lets say, my S&W 1911? IT'S NOT! What a bunch of uninformed idiots!
Yet again, another reason I will NEVER live in CA.

While not an SIS version, that newspaper article and the idiots it quoted kinda make me smile with pride at the new Kimber that followed me home from a gun show today......

What a sad, sad shame. Reminds me of when I went back to the city I was born in. The news featured council members being recalled, school administrators being scandalized and a mayor that was trying to bring the city out of financial ruin. Two generations could not turn the city around, and it just seems like personal political agenda's trump progress so often....

Uh, since 1911? Man, that is befuddled!
Must be thinking about that hi-cap 8-round magazine -- do they allow those in CommieFornia?
oh,
my sides hurt
That is SO FUNNY!
Just have to upgrade the burglary objective. Why steal a $400 RIA when you can use and lose (into the Pacific) a $1000 "highly specialized" weapon?
Ridiculous. I can't even read the news anymore, because it's a waste of ...pretty much everything.
Actually, even longer. The original design was submitted to the military trials for testing in 1906, redesigned and submitted in 1907. So while officially adopted in 1911, the gun itself has been around for at least 101 years......
It's not going to stop the "100th Anniversary Editions" in 3 years, though.

I actually held a SIS yesterday at a gun shop. I hadn't seen one before, but after reading this thread, I noticed it right away. I almost purchased it just out of spite.
It's a very nice gun.
The facts are indisputable. There is more data supporting the benefits of Conceal Carry than there is supporting global warming. If you choose ignorance, in light of all the evidence, in order to bolster your irrational fear of guns, you are a greater threat to society than any gun owner.
Not exactly.
