I put that down mostly to fear and lack of knowledge of the four rules - but in a way, if they consider themselves so incompetent then could well be safer for all of us - but not them in extremis!

Yes, certain SA exceptions which I think we here all know about but for carry (not gonna be SA (is it!!)) - fully stoked only!

Well, I underload my semis. Because I have to leave my gun in my car sometimes, I prefer it unloaded. And where feasible, I take my mag(s) with me. The thought is that if someone breaks into my car, they may find my gun but there won't be any ammo and/or mags.

But that doesn't explain why I underload. I underload because when I remove the round from the chamber I want to be able to put it in the magazine and not have a bullet floating around loose.

So, I fully load the mag, insert the mag, rack the slide to chamber a round, press check to be sure the round chambered, but I don't remove the mag and add another round to fully top off the mag.

That's funny! "They can have my gun when they pry the key for my gun security box from my cold dead hand."

Oh, gosh, no. It makes perfect Liberal sense. A home invader would have the opportunity to express his sexual/WASP frustrations to, or on, the wife. While the counselling was going on, the husband would be assembling his pistol, in case the BG decided he liked things too much to leave. (all the acceptance of his social-disadvantagism and dysfunctional childhood would be very inviting, you understand..... )

    That is if he:

    1) Manages to have a fight with 2 or less BG's
    2) He hits them and neutralizes them!

    Otherwise he is S.O.L
You have to make the shot when fire is smoking, people are screaming, dogs are barking, kids are crying and sirens are coming.

Miggy - it just kinda makes you go "HUH????" doesn't it! I mean even if you never need them, why would it hurt to carry a full mag???

I wonder how many people that don't know better (because he's their authority), he has convinced that 3 or 4 is all they need?

I think that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. You suppose he also tells them to shoot the gun out of the BGs hand?

    What does S.O.L. mean?

Not sure about the bigger stuff, but my NAA Mini .22 mag has the firing pin mounted on the hammer. Of course it also has a "1/2 cock" position on it that cant be forced or dropped with the trigger. (more like 1/8 cock) If it didn't have that and the hammer rested on the round, I would probably still be doing the same thing you are talking about

I'm sure you meant that the NAA Mini has a notch between the chambers that you lower the firing pin into for safe carry.

There are 2 sounds in the world that strike more fear than any others. A click when you should hear a bang and a bang when you should hear a click.
