Yeah, we have some very stupid laws about concealed carry, but on the plus side, I've never seen a 'No Firearms' sign anywhere except the ABC stores.
I'm sure the big cities have plenty of no carry establishments, but not here on the Outer Banks.

The first thing we learn in CCW class is, You cant carry it any where or shoot anyone. When you see a parade you better run the other way too.

Those who understand binary, and those that don't.

It is actually worse than you stated. Don't even have it in the car if you visit a school. Also, too bad you don't have to go on and off a military reservation as well.

Should
House Bill 476 be passed in it's current form in 2009, it would GREATLY help the cause of conceal carry by opening the door to allowing it everywhere. Everyone in NC needs to be aware of this bill.
Wow, I was totally unware that Bill476 was out there. I see that the bill appears to be dead until 2009-2010. Is there anything that can be done in support of this bill?

Not this legislative session. You'll have to wait until the next session to have your voice really heard. Thank the House Judiciary II committee for dragging their feet.

I have also had to lock my CCW in the glovebox at "The Roomstore" in NC. They post a no Concelaed Carry Sign at the front door. My wife was with me so I didn't display and go open carry since she can't grasp the reason why I have a CCW as it is.

Now, how often do we go out with friends to a nice restaurant or even Pizza Hut and "forget about" that Kahr P45 in my pocket?

Look very carefully around before you go into a Waffle House. I've seen a number of the them with signs prohibiting carry. Sometimes the signs are on the outside walls such as the one in Smithfield and sometimes they're up over the servers area. I can't remember ever seeing one on the front door.
It's a crying shame too, because I love to get four eggs over easy, an order of crispy bacon and hashbrowns with cheese and mess it all together. Looks nasty, but taste great.

So, what's the open carry situation in NC?
