Here's an old thread about Southwest Airlines:
This is a discussion on Flying to Utah Monday within the Concealed Carry Issues & Discussions forums, part of the Defensive Carry Discussions category; I'll be in Salt Lake City for a couple days on business and after some checking, UT will honor my NH permit so I figured ...
I'll be in Salt Lake City for a couple days on business and after some checking, UT will honor my NH permit so I figured its time to see what carrying in a different time zone is like
I looked on Utah's state site and there doesn't seem to be much in the way of restrictions beyond telling an officer your carrying if you get pulled over, anything else I ought to know? Also, anyone have issues with declaring a firearm at SLC airport (I'll be flying Southwest)?
When you’re wounded and left on Afghanistan’s plains,
And the women come out to cut up what remains,
Just roll to your rifle and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier.
An armed man is a citizen.
An unarmed man is a subject.
I took the Utah CCW as well on 2/21. I mailed in the paperwork on 2/22 and they did not cash my check yet as of today 3/8.
I will check again on monday.
Re-read the post and had a "duh!" moment...
No... Southwest out of Utah is a piece of cake when checking a gun.
Delta is even easier for future reference.
Welcome to Utah. It's a cool place to be.
There are 2 sounds in the world that strike more fear than any others. A click when you should hear a bang and a bang when you should hear a click.
Well, I made it to Utah, you folks got a purdy place out here!
In Manchester I told the ticket agent I had to declare and all she said was ok and asked if it was unloaded. Never had me open it for her. Got the little slip taped to the gun case in my baggage and off I went to SLC. Everything arrived in one piece (though my stuff was the last out of the baggage claim convayer, had me nervous!), I did find one of those TSA inspection sheets stuck into my bag but thats it.
