    Thanks for all the info!!

You are staying in Kenner! Yes! I would be packing there too. Personally I would fly with the gun checked before I would send it fedEx. You will have about a 15 minute drive to downtown if traffic is good. I10 is the only major highway through the area and it can get backed up big time. Avoid rush hours on I10. Stay alert!

I highly recommend the Audubon Park and the Audubon Zoo right behind it. The garden district around St. Charles is very antebellum (if it's still there) The biegnets at the Cafe Dumonde are not to be beaten anywhere on earth. The french market and St. Louis Cathedral at Jackson square are also great. There is so much good food to be had that I won't even start on the resteraunts. If you've never been to the french quarter I suppose you may want to do that. But honestly, once you've see winos vomiting in the gutters you'll quickly ascertain how over-rated it is. There's a lot to do in N.O. or at least there was before Katrina. I'm sure most of it is back online though. Anyway, have fun and remember to stay armed at all times. Locking your doors should go without saying.
