Did the Wal-Mart thing...
...but it wasn't my first time carrying.
Got my permit some time ago, but didn't get my Ruger until some time later, and just got my holster last week.
First day of carry was actually at work. But, I had make a quick trip to Wal-Mart today, so thought I'd take care of that 'traditional' trip as well.
No nachos for me...dietary restrictions.
Magazine aisle. Nothing of interest. Stop by the jewelry department to check on flints and fluid for my grandpa's old Zippo I recently acquired. Quick check of DVD releases. Nothing of interest. Automotive department to check on turn signal bulb. No joy. Stop by the sporting goods department to take a quick peek at eye protection. Snag a jar of mayo (whole point of the trip). Back to jewelry department to get the Zippo accessories. Casually walk out of the store with my odd assortment o' goods.
Carried my Ruger SR9 in a Crossbreed Supertuck. Just had on jeans and an untucked t-shirt.

No nacho's is something we might be able to overlook, but the no ammo thing is a little sticky. I think we are going to need a more senior member make a ruling on weather we honor the trip.

When I'm not spending close to $500/month on gas because of my 85 mile roundtrip drive to work, I'll be able to have more disposable income for ammo. For now, it's as needed. Got my defensive ammo at the house, and when I go to the range for practice or IDPA, I'll pick up a box of WWB then.
Didn't make the 'traditional' stops, but I sure as heck walked all over that store on that trip

Congrats on the trip...it's the parking lot that is so dangerous!

You're not kidding. A few years ago, at this particular Wal-Mart, a woman was abducted from the parking lot and taken to a nearby construction site where she was assaulted. She lived, but all that torment and pain supposedly just because her assailant had gotten into an argument with his wife.
