I remember when the bill was filed back in December 2007 to allow gun store personnel 18 to 20 to handle handguns, then about three weeks ago it was decided to let it apply to all 18 year olds. There are already 33 states that allow 18 year olds to own handguns.

I guess I'm a law nerd, I sit up at night looking over all the newest legislation, so I probably see things that haven't made the news yet.
There is some pretty odd stuff that comes up about all kinds of things, alot of it never makes it through committees.

I also agree with 'XDinSC', juvenile records should be made available for gun checks, at least until a person is old enough to have some kind of track record. At 18 or even 21 your juvenile record is very important in establishing your character.

Let's get back on track here: I think it's great to allow other state permit holders to carry in SC, but what about SC permit holders'? We still can't carry in other states legally...if other state's can, why can't we do the same? If find that arbitrary and illogical.

Apparently, SC DA says that our training standards are higher than other states. Maybe SC should set the example and allow us to carry in other states.

SC is stating that we are required to have 8 hours of class/training. Apparently some states do not require such training, so SC thinks our standards are higher.
