    Oh Happy Day!

My bride FINALLY got her CHL in the mail...we had to get her fingerprints redone and that caused the delay. Now she's legal to carry and will be toting an Ultra NS/LG. But I just figured out the license and the Ultra were not the expensive parts...it's the plethora of purses that have been purchased to carry it!

I'm joking, of course, but I am really glad this has finally come about. I feel a lot better about her going about her business now when I'm not around. It has also encouraged my daughter to start shooting with us and she is now interested in getting her license when the time comes.

The moral of this story is that I'm a lucky guy...an little encouragement and patience has made it so my partner in life and I get to spend some quality time together doing yet another activity we both really enjoy. On top of all that, when I order ammo the only question I hear now is..."When is it going to get here?"

Everyone of us "complain" about the cost of purses or pink guns, but I dare you to find one guy who would flinch at the cost (within reason of course) of an accessory to protect someone they love.

Congrats. She sounds like a keeper.

Great story, and believe me it will continue too. Soon it will be "I don't have a thing to go with that little black number" which will result in a new 1911, Glock, HP, S&W, etc etc and come to think of it "thats not all bad". After a good number of years she lets me play with her toys too. :)

Congratulations! My young bride has had her CHL for some years now and I feel great about it. One big advantage is that it opens up whole new categories of gifts you can give on those special occasions. For example, last year I gave my wife a Colt Cobra for her birthday.

Get a good feeling for her sense of style, though. Buying a purse can be a challenge. It's still somewhat mysterious to me. I look at two purses that appear practically identical, yet she can take one glance and tell me why one is obviously unacceptable.

Ammo, speedloaders and mag pouches are always in style!
    Cheers,

I feel your pain. Since my wife got her permit (less than a year ago), she has spent more on purses than we spent on her Glock and the permit combined. But I am just thankful that she is carrying.

anyone know any holster options for a wedding dress? Makes me smile picturing a bride walking down the isle with a 1911 tucked away...maybe a "bridecarry"?

    She doesn't necessarily need a holster . . .

    Congratulations!

Whenever I start to resent all those purses and shoes, I remember my box-o-holsters... there must be $2000.00 worth in there!
