california police ccw opinions

california police ccw opinions

any of you guys cops in california? if so what is your opinion on law abiding citizens carrying concealed? i served 4 years in the marines with a combat tour in somallia i am an avid shooter and a member of a gun club i also have both florida and utah ccw permits. is that enough to get me a california ccw in the county of orange?

OC is quite possibly the hardest CCW to obtain in the country. They push the envelope of being a pain in the ass in every way possible. That and by the time your finished you will have $4-500 invested.

from what i hear, san bernadino county is the easiest of the large population counties in california.

Like everything else there is marketing going on, make it look friendly. Actually there is less than 1,000 ccw issued in Orange County and I don't know how many of these belong to cops, judges or others. There are about 3 million people in OC CA. We are way down on the list as to number of ccw issued.
Even LA county has about this number and they are very difficult to get a ccw from.
Our Sheriff is a nice guy and a SA supporter but bound to state requirements. There are county issues with many more ccw permits than OC. I would say it is difficult to get and renew a ccw in OC.

Something tells me that the CA cops you'll find in this forum are not representative of the majority of police there (or anywhere)

Actually, there are about 1000 issued per year in Orange County, according to a file I saw somewhere. They're behind Kern and San Bernardino Counties for Kalifornia CCW Issuances.

Edit: Upon second glance, that doesn't really make sense. It looks like it's a little above 1000 Total. Though they may be hard to get, I have to say that a Kaliforna CCW is pretty strong. In AL, I can't even carry where any amount of alcohol is served.
