Ohio Folks need clarification.
Was under the impression that in Ohio concealed carry was a no-no in all resturants? After trying to read through 99 pages of legal mumbo jumbo the best I could tell was only if it had a class D liquor license. So what's the scoop. Wife is leaving tomorrow and we want to make sure we have it right. Thanks.

I have an ohio ccw, and live here. My understanding is not to carry in any indoor public location that serves alcohol. Beyond restaurants, I believe this extends to include events like auto shows if alcohol is served.

If they serve alcohol, it is a no go. Carnival, church social, neighborhood festival etc. Be careful, as this may apply to the premises as well, meaning a concealed carry/loaded pistol in the parking lot is off limits. No different as I understand it to the placard on the door, weapon must be unloaded and in seperate case/box/container from ammo. weenie words: I am not an attorney and dont play one on this forum.

The wallet card I carry was provided by Buckeye Firearms Association | Defending Your Firearm Rights and lists the following.
Forbidden Carry Zones:
. Any law enforcement station or detention facility
. Courthouse or building housing a courtroom
. Building owned or run by the state or a political subdivision
. Place of worship (unless specifically allowed)
. Any airplane and most airport buildings
. Institution for the care of mentally ill persons
. School safety zone, college, or university
. Child day-care center
. Any premisis with a class liquor D permit
. Wherever federal law prohibits the carrying of handguns
. Any building or property posted as a "no gun zone"

Thanks guys I think that covers what I was looking for.
Howard, Canton is where my wife is flying. She was born and raised there until I moved her out here.

As a transplanted Ohio, my understanding was, no carry in any place that serves alcohol for consumption on premesis, i.e. the class D liqour permit.
Restaurants that don't sell alcohol and aren't marked as off limits, good to go. A class D also does not apply to say a gas station that sells beer.
But keep in mind I am not a lawyer.

All those rules in Ohio make my head hurt, and reminds me why I love living here now.

If anything with an alcohol content is served in the restaurant, you can't carry there.
Otherwise, if it's not posted, feel free to carry. Remember the whole "knowingly" clause about CPZ's
