Received my CWP from South Carolina this week. Took about 70 days.
Glad to see they are no longer taking the full 90 days like in the past. I was lucky and mine took only 60. Be safe and behave up in Easley.
Congrats and welcome to the awesome responsibility of CC
I received my permit this week as well. Be alert-Stay safe
The situation will NEVER BE THE WAY YOU WANT, it WILL BE THE WAY IT IS. You must be FLEXIBLE ENOUGH TO ADAPT and just "DEAL WITH IT".

Good Afternoon everyone.. I've been reading about how it takes weeks and weeks to get your conceal permit in all your other states. Is there set amounts of time or is it random when it finally arrives. My wife and I did our class on a saturday, and then on monday we went down to the sherriff's office (Springfield MO.) and applied. Two weeks later they called and we went and picked ours up.
Turned in my paperwork and did prints 7 March and the woman taking prints said 60 days here in Virginia. Well by their own policy they have to issue it in 45 days or send a certified copy of the application to you to serve as a de facto permit. Of course the printing was done at the police station and the circuit court is responsible for issuing I imagine. Tomorrow is day 45 so we shall see.
i live in SC. got my permit in 2006, took 72 days. several friends took the class last feb. and most allready have thier permit back. one side note, one of the guys that took the class in feb. had at one time had a sc pemit from the early 90s (the one that was just a piece of paper with no picture) but he never renewed it and had to take the class again. he had his back in 11 days !! anyway congrats.
digitalexplr, did the wally world walk on Saturday
In SC the amount of time is random but you can count on it usually taking 60 days but must be issued withing 90. SLED handles all of the permits but they have to notify the local sheriff and he has a week to respond. If he objucts within the week then you have to appeal but usually they will just ignore it until the full week is out and then it is approved by default. SLED also does the background check including your driving record and fingerprints. Theoretically it is a thorough check. The SC CWP also serves as the NCIS check when purchasing so all together it isn't so bad. I understad that renewal only takes about a week.
When I applied for my NH permit it was supposed to take 2-3 weeks at most according to their web site. Mine took 45 days which wasn't much quicker than the SC one.
Congrats and welcome to the board.
