Ok, so my permit finally came in the mail today. Woohoo! I'm hoping that you all can shed some light on the situation I'm finding myself in. Exactly what are the proper tactics for making an initial Wal-mart trip to a Wal-mart that doesn't sell nachos? The rules have been made very clear that you must eat nachos at Wal-mart the first time you carry in public, so what do I do? I mean, are the nachos the important part, or is Wal-mart? Thanks.
I hope they got pretzels

Nachos are overrated. I say get a taco salad....

Congrats on the permit. Makes your old man proud (again!).

The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it.
Yeah, most Walmarts in Brevard County don't have the grungy food court anymore either, so I had to settle for Doritos.
Basically, as you may suspect, the nacho thing....its to get over the fact that "man, how could I have been like all these sheeple 6 months ago?" type of feeling, and so you can realize that you are the only one who knows/cares that you are carrying a weapon in a "safe" place like Walmart.
Matter of fact, I actually ran into some people I knew on my nacho run (they were "huggers" too, double uh-oh) and I played it off fine. They never knew, and I realized that nothing is different after you start carrying. Right. Almost nothing. ;)

I'd say a chili dog would be a good substitute for the nachos

Congrads You could always hope for a Micky D's, nachos are over-rated.

Churros man.. churros are the way to go..
Okay, I confess: When I first started carrying concealed in 1978, Walmarts were not as prevalent as they are today. Although I have carried in a Walmart and Walgreens store many times since, I think the first time I carried lawfully concealed was at school when I was a senior at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. My first foray was, IIRC, into a Criminal Justice class (my major) and the room was filled with local cops. LOL. Back then the only prohibitions were that you couldn't have a gun if you lived in the dorms. When I was in the dorms, I was too young to get a permit anyway.

make sure you also buy a wwb of ammo to round out your trip

I's say that with all the changes at Wal-Mart it doesn't have to specifically be nachos any longer, any bad food will do. Regardless of what type of snack shop they have in your local Wally's, I'm sure there is some nasty food somewhere on their menu....

When I first started carrying Wal-Mart did not exist yet.

SKIP WALLY WORLD THEY ARE NOT GUN FRIENDLY. Good grief I don't know where this tradition came from but we are rewarding a company that is in league with Mayor Bloomberg of NY. Go to your local gun store and buy some ammo from a business that supports us instead.
