By law, they have to process within 60 days. Mine a few months ago was about 50 days.

I thought it was 90 days? Mine took 88, but they have been running about 6 weeks since upping the staff.

I mailed off my application on 2/28/08. I emailed them to inquire about it last week. Here is the reply that was sent back.

"Eric, It looks like we received it on March 17th and right now we are processing March 11-12. It will probably take another week or so. If you have any questions let us know."

In Utah it is 60 days by law. It took 7 weeks and a day, to get my Utah CFP.

Got mine two weeks ago--but it came one day shy of 11 weeks from when I mailed it.

I'm still new here and maybe it's a dumb question, but why would you want a Utah CCW if you're out of the state?

It's popular with out-of-staters because Utah's permit is recognized in more states than any other state's permit, so it's more convenient to have if you travel a lot.

Actually i think at this point MO as surpassed Utah in the number of states you can carry. Rather my decision was more of a economical one and a partical one. The Utah out of state permit cost me $70 compared to up to a $100 in MO. In MO you have to renew every three years at a cost of around $40-$50, in Utah you can renew every 5 years at $10. So instead of paying $100 to Mo for Three years I figure paying $100 to Utah for 20 years.

Yet you can throw my logic out the window too as i will eventually get a MO permit for the particular states that recoginze MO but not Utah, but then again there are states that recognise Utah and not MO

I sent an email to them yesterday and received this response back

We received your application on April 7. We should get to your application by 6/7. If you have any questions let us know.

Basically they told me nothing as their law states they have to issue within 60 days

    Mine took

Just shy of 60 days. If you dont get yours within that timeline then get on the phone and be very direct with them. When I got mine they included a letter identifying that the permit was being issued without a federal background, and that it was good as long as the federal did not have any hickups.
