What do you think about that?
I heard it through the grapevine
My new neighbor
Don't like my big red barn
A '47 Ford
Bullet holes in the door
Broke down motor in the front yard
Lost my self after my own title! Good song though...
My wife's application has been temporarily halted because she was born on a military installation! Yes Folks! That's right! She was born in Masawa AFB, Japan, and the state of florida considers her to not be a US citizen without proof! They included a list with their letter of a few things we could send in to prove she was legal... All the things were items that a natural US citizen would not have!
So I called the number provided and talked (I use that term very loosely right now) with the angry rude lady at the other end of the phone and tried to explain that we don't have any of the above mentioned items. Well "Since she was born in Japan she will need to show that she renounced her Japanese citizenship"... WTH? So I calmly tried to explain to the lady that my wife was born on a military installation and that makes her a US citizen. This lady didn't buy it...
BUT... we mailed out a copy of her certificate of birth abroad today and hopefully that will convince somebody...
Now... What do you think about that?

Why would you possibly think that someone in the service of state government could actually think?

I am assuming one of her parents were in the Air Force. If so, I would contact someone in the Air Force and explain the situation to them. They may be able to better help the Idiots understand.

Yep, her dad is retired AF...
The certificate we sent has been certified by a MSgt and signed by the Vice Consul... It had better work.
IsaacNewton... Uh yeah.
Some people just don't get it... And I am starting to think they all work for the government.

Well, who else would hire them?

Sorry you had to go through that. I seriously doubt the lady on the phone today would even know what this means: "certified by a MSgt and signed by the Vice Consul" Duh....What's that?

My youngest son was born in Germany, at Landstuhl 2nd General Army Hospital. He got his permit with no problems at all, of course his is from Indiana. Different states have different criteria.

Say, she got a passport? Wouldn't that suffice?

If the problem persists, you and your father-in-law should go to the nearest VA office and explain the situation, they can help get the info you need.

Call you state Representative. I work for one in Missouri. We deal with these issues all the time. State agency bureaucates respond a whole lot differently when the Reps offices call them.
Stupidity is not limited to government workers as is evident by comments made on forums like this.
