    Up's & Down's of Arizona?

    I was set and started applying for Florida Schools..but after tumble over the Embry-Riddle University I have seriously started to consider a BS degree there- in Arizona..

    It is not the right section to discuss the school- but I would still like some input from anyone in here that have attended or heard something about the school..

    And I would like to hear from Arizona Residents;
    What do you consider to be the CCW up-and downsides living in AZ?
    The only thing I have read is that there is no restaurant carry- and
    of course, the no college campus carry..

    Thanks.

    I don't know about anything ccw related to Embry Riddle, But I do know that it is one of very few Aviation-specific schools that is well respected. Many, Many others give claims of opportunities and credentials, only for it to turn out that noone knows them or thinks poorly of them. If I were looking for a career in an aviation-related field, I'd try darn hard to make Embry Riddle my school.

    The legislature is working on the restaurant carry issue, trying to make it legal to carry where the majority of income is food. Legal open carry here, and the CCW is easy to get. You'll be up in Prescott where it's not as hot as Phoenix. Very nice small town that still has plenty to do and the crime rate is low. Just north of you is Gunsite, might be a good time to take some top shelf training. You're only 1.5 hours from Phoenix if big city stuff interests you.

    Embry-Riddle is a very prestigious school. Grab the chance if you can. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions!

    Crime from the illegals is a big issue depending where you live. Tucson is now a major US drug/human trafficking hub according to our government. I try to CCW everywhere, but can't when I go to work because its a military base...I have invested in a good knife, tazer, and pepperspray for this issue.

    My former officemate graduated from Emery-Riddle. I can vouch for the school. He was an Aerospace Engineer. Even if AZ passes a law allowing University carry (I'm not sure if it has passed) ERU could ban it. Private Univ. can do as they fell like doing. I can say that ERU is a very conservative university and that is a big plus, pro-military also.

    I will second AZ Huskers comment. I would like to add a simple point though. If and when you come to our fine gun friendly state, just call us or let us know when you get here. That way, we can organize a great Bar B Que and shoot fest. I can even dress like a clown and make baloon animals, that's if anyone's kids have any objection to eel shaped balloons.

    I recently traveled into Arizona for a day, before I had my CFP. Carried openly and got a funny look from one guy and I'm pretty sure he was from out of town (I was in a hotel lobby at the time).

    Any place where the people don't even look at you twice when you walk in wearing a pistol on your hip has got to be a very good place to ccw...
