Thanks guys. One more day and counting before I leave. Really getting antsy now. I've spent the last three days reading Frommers Guide to the Southwest, Arizona Vacation Guide and my Atlas. Most everything suggested here has been right in line with what I had already decided to do.
Went this morning and shot IDPA and tried out some new Winchester SXZ9 sold in Bass Pro and was pleased with their accuracy. So I guess I'm good to go.

Yes, but I would contact those states to be sure. All of the main concealed carry websites tell you to do that. While you are probably okay, it's better to be safe than sorry.

When you are done with all the touring, drop two hours southeast and stop by in Tucson for a cup of coffee (I'll buy). Wire for your possessions. You'll never leave.

Arrived in Phoenix yesterday. Carrying on the plane was a piece of cake. Went by the rules and nobody batted an eye in Knoxville when I checked in. Nobody asked to see inside the case. Just took my word that my two guns were unloaded and sent me on my way. Since I had TSA locks on everything they said they would check anything if it became necessary. No evidence anything was opened or disturbed.
Only bad thing happened was after driving about an hour north of Phoenix I realized my video camera and digital camera were not with me. Long story short, I misplaced them somewhere between the airport and car rental pick-up.
But they were both outdated and cheap so no big loss there.
SixBravo, I drove the Prescott National Forest yesterday. Thanks for sending me that way. Truly beautiful. Heading toward Sedona in about an hour.

Damn shame you don't have a camera. For those that are curious what he and I are talking about....

Those are some shots I took myself. I love this part of the country. Beautiful beyond words sometimes.

Six...You forgot Whiskey Row, the Dells, and the Spirit Room in Jerome.

Well I made it back home last night from my AZ vacation. Nine days of fabulous scenery, that for this Tennessee boy, was an unending visual extraveganza that everyone who can should try and experience before they die.
Carrying was no problem and it seemed like there were more gun stores than escort services in every town we visited. (Just doing research with no intention of making any calls)
The only problem I had was trying to figure out when I was on an Indian Reservation. I must have missed some signs along the road and found myself on reservations a few times while I was packing. Just kept driving and made no stops.
The airport found my cameras that I had lost and I picked them up on the way home. (After I had bought a new digital camera. Now I have two.)
The only other hiccup was I lost a high cap magazine for my XD9 somewhere that I didn't discover was missing until I got home. That really sucks.
