I am a Texan traveling from Texas to New Mexico for a vacation. I am going to check with some gun stores in Albuquerque and/or Santa Fe on gun availability for one or two models I am looking for.
Can gun stores in New Mexico sell to out-of-state firearm buyers?

They can sell it to you, but they will have to ship it to a local FFL in TX, if I recall correctly.
That's not state law, that's federal law(18 USC 922 Section 922. Unlawful acts). You have to purchase a handgun in your state of residence or purchase it and have it shipped to an FFL in your state of residence.
A long gun you can buy anywhere.

That is correct. No out of state purchases can be delievered to you from an FFL dealer.

be sure to have YOUR local dealers card with address and numbers to make the transaction a bit more smooth..that way they can exchange FFL info back and forth and quite possibly, you'll have a package waiting for you when you get home.
