    That was quick.

I came home today and went through my mail before dinner. There was an envelope from the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training. I proceeded to open it and saw my ccdw certificate. Now I just need to go downtown and fill out the application, provide a picture, and the fees that are due. I wonder about two things: Do they take your picture or do you need to bring one? Do they take cash? I figure I will wait longer on this part of the process. Input is welcome.

Call your local sheriff office, they will have the answers for you, in Boyd county they have a camera and charge an extra $5 to take the picture, in Kentucky they won't accept a digital image. Most offices should take cash. I think they say it takes about a month for them to process your application and complete the back ground check they will run on you. The one thing that suprised me was the simplicity of the application, it was a one page form where you put all your information down and sign it, then they attach your photo and you are done, it took me longer to take a picture then it did to fill out the application. Congrats on joining the world of concealed carry and be proud of yourself for standing up and taking the responsibility for your own safety and security. Good luck!

i am assuming you guys have walgreens on every corner in KY as we do in MO. If you need a passport type photo you can get two from them for 8 bucks. They will even retake the pic if you are not happy with how you look, after 10 pics the lady told me that her camera can not fix ugly, so i just accepted the picture and moved on.
