These threads are a dime a dozen....

but I will post it up anyways. I am applying tomorrow morning for my Washington CCW permit. It wont be my first CCW permit; I had a South Dakota permit, but have not carried in a year due to living in Californistan since then. I will still have to do the obligatory Walmart walk I suppose. I'll keep you guys posted!

How long does Washington State take for your permit to arrive?

Well keep us posted. Yeah, I'm afraid your main permit will not be valid without the obligatory Wally World trip. For additional permits the trip is optional but encouraged by tradition. Due to differing snack availability, the nachos are optional!

I thought the 'second' permit required both WalMart AND Home Depot...

For residents, 30 days. For non-residents, they can take 60 days. RCW 9.41.070.

    Stay safe!
It is utterly illogical to believe that passing laws to reduce gun violence will be successful when those who are commiting the gun violence do not obey the law.

When I was living in Washington it took the entire 60 days until I got the call to come and get it.

Well I am HOPING that since I have had a CCW before, and my background is pretty cut and dry it will go quickly. In SD it was 6, yes that's right folks 6 days before you have a permit. The way they do it is you apply ($15) and they do a check and mail you a temp permit in a few days after that is done. Then you receive your permanent permit about 30 days later. We'll see how the wait is. Heading out to the Police Station right now!

    Rifter,
That seems to be the general wait for WA around here. Sounds great to me. I just moved up here from CA, so I am just delighted to even have a CCW permit again! God I hate CA..........................................
