Does this magazine make me look fat? (pic intensive)
This is a discussion on Does this magazine make me look fat? (pic intensive) within the Concealed Carry Issues & Discussions forums, part of the Defensive Carry Discussions category; I have read a lot of threads about how many rounds people carry, how many magazines, how to carry all that stuff, etc, etc, etc. ...

Doesn't look visible standing up but if you bend over that magazine's going to look like you've got a tail growing out of your spine.

No it's your fat that makes you look fat
Actually, dnowell is right with his assessment
"[T]he people are not to be disarmed of their weapons.
They are left in full possession of them."
Zacharia Johnson (speech in the Virginia Ratifying Convention,25 June 1778

For most folks, myself included, carrying a spare magazine is rarely about the perceived need for more ammo than what's in the gun, it's a safeguard against a magazine related failure that would otherwise render your weapon a paperweight. Broken mag springs, base plate flies off, etc. it's all about anticipating Mr. Murphy - which is why we carry in the first place.
The only time I carry spare ammo because I feel I "might" need more than what's in the gun is when I carry my 5 shot j-frame.
As far as the pics go: It looks like your cell phone/blackberry prints more than your pistol with either mag in place, seems like you're doing well concealing that 26. I still have days when it feels like my 19 might as well be glued to my forehead for as much as it prints - thankfully, the general masses aren't very observant.

If you're not careful, you'll end up puttin' somebody's eye out with that thing.

I really recommend that you consider a smart carry for the mag.....

A mag like that surely needs its own leg holster.

My spare mag is for a mag related failure more than a fear of me running out of ammo.
If my mag fails then my pistol is a poorly designed rock.

I use to carry my G26 OWB whenever I had a jacket on, and a P3AT 380 in my pocket the rest of the year.
But the nice citizens of this forum have educated me on style and show me that having a shirt untucked is “in chic” so what the heck; I carry my G26 almost all the time now.
And I leave that nice little 30 shot G18 magazine in the car.
Kind of figure that 10 rounds should help me find my way back to the car.

I wouldn't carry a 30 round magazine around as part of a concealed carry combo. To each his own of course. When I carry a bottom feeder the extra mag I might carry is more to cover a malfunction in the one in the gun than it is for extra capacity.

In a shooting situation ammo goes very fast.
You will likely not be able to count rounds and will find yourself at slide lock very quickly, wondering "WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED AND WHY ISN'T MY GUN WORKING ANYMORE!?!?!"
Your next thought will probably be "OH (expletive of your choice)" because the bad guy's friend, seeing you fiddle with an empty gun will smile, then be on you like a fat kid tackling candy bar as he tries to open you up with a knife as if you were a birthday gift.
Carry.

Reload.
For.

Gun.
I used to carry a Glock 26. The 10 round mags are not heavy. Stick one in your pocket next to the cell phone.
Without ammo, you are just about an irrelevant factor in any use of force situation.

Somehow I don't think the OP was serious. I detect a little sly humor in this thread ;)
Still, I've been thinking of buying a G26 for the simple reason that I can get 33 round mags for it!

Hey, Point, exactly what type of material is that shirt and how thick is it? It seems to be doing a good job in spite of being white, tight not having a pattern.
Your belt prints more than the gun.
