Most government entities immediately deposit checks rather than hold them. In Arizona they are required to deposit them the day they arrive. I would say it simply means they have received your check.

I paid the extra $3 for the laminate too. I guess Pierce county offers that option as well. Too bad it is kinda cheap looking. At least with the laminate, it will protect it.
Here in TN, they do not take a check, they want cash! So, you know they have your money and you will wait for a least 6 to 8 weeks or more for you permit.
I bought my own laminate and did it myself. I do that each time I renew it. No big deal. I do wish they would go to a card like the drivers license though. because it would fit better in the wallet.
NY's cards are hard plastic almost like a credit card
Does anybody know what the CCW licenses here in WA actually look like? Somebody should take a picture so I can see what you guys are talking about!
I paid cash for my CPL (plus $3 for lam.) and received it within 10 days.
Wow, that looks a lot like my Grandfather's Army ID from back in 1945, just without the picture of the strikingly handsome G.I.
In TX it looks just like a DL, ugly picture and all.

It is a little larger than WA DL but will fit in most wallets.
I tried to take the pic far enough back that my info would not be legible. I probably will edit it later....
It can vary with the procedures of the group in question. If they are the sort to cash your check immediately, in advance of providing any service, then it could be cashed early. If they are the sort to only cash it when services are provided, then it could indicate that your application is being worked on now. Depends. One option: plan for the worst but hope for the best.

Here in SC, cashing the Check means they got your money and your not getting it back. Fee is non refundable.
Our CWP looks almost exactly like our Drivers License. It is likely that is where they send them to be made as it appears they use the File Photo of the Drivers License rather than the one they require that you send them.
