Check cashing question
Hey guys,
So I have a question for you all in regards to my check being cashed. I put in my application a week ago for my ccw permit. They cashed my check this week. I am wondering, what does that mean? I have read on a few different posts that it means that they are processing. Is this true? In WA they only have 30 days by law to issue. What do you guys think?

I'd bet it means you'll have a permit in the mail to you soon.

I'd say it indicates that the processing procedure is happening.

In TX all it means is they now have your money, and you're still gonna wait 90 to 120 days (sometimes more).

Totally normal. They cashed my check a day or two after I applied. I got mine in 26 days, through King County. Just hang in there.
I only wish they would issue a laminated or plastic card of some type instead of a dumb piece of paper.

The "permit" is just a piece of paper? Lowsy!
I was pleased with everyone in the sheriff's office -- I almost expected some opposition considering this is such a liberal county, and especially since we look young -- but everyone was carefree and nice. Made the experience very enjoyable.
It is utterly illogical to believe that passing laws to reduce gun violence will be successful when those who are commiting the gun violence do not obey the law.

In NH they wouldn't take my money when I submitted the application. I paid when I picked it up.

Yeah. I didn't realize it when I was applying, but you actually sign on the paper permit itself when you pay for it. Then all they do is mail you that receipt, which has a tear-away portion that you place in your wallet.
Not a huge deal I guess but it would be nice to have an actual card so that the permit isn't destroyed if my wallet gets wet.

It was the same here, no questions asked... Just fill this form out, scan your fingers and pay that lady over there. Took about 10 to 15 minutes.

Unfortunately I did not get that option. Maybe I'll just laminate it myself.
