More new CC'ers!
6 more on the way!
It's time for me to renew my Texas CHL, so I've got to take the class again. I made the recommendation to one of my two step-daughters who's expressed an interest, that she join me for the class. After all, it's they perfect time, since she'll get a $10 discount and she won't have to take it by herself. She, turn, talked to her husband, and he's going to do it. Then my other step-daughter and her husband didn't want to be left out. And now another couple is joining us, too. There may even be a couple more sign up. It's sometimes a lot easier to do things with a group of family and friends.
I've talked to all of them about self defense, shooting and concealed carry for years. My wife also has her CHL. The time was just finally right for them all to get on board.
I'm going to spend range time with them and let them use my handguns for the class, and help them find what's right for them. It gives me a great opportunity to do more gun shopping.
Let's keep spreading the word. I want lots of friends and family members to be able to watch my back!
Cheers,
Rod

Great news...I would like to get my Brother In Law to get his license, but so far it's a no go. He's in San Antonio, also.

Hey, tell him to join us on the 19th. I can get him the $10 discount.
Cheers,
Rod

Congratulations on getting the family on board. I am currently trying to get my parents to get theirs, but I've got a little ways to go.

He's active duty so his application would be free.
He's more of the opinion that the criminal is just misunderstood.
I'll ask him, again. I know he owns a pistol. Now if I can just convince him he might actually need it somewhere other than his nightstand.

An armed family.... I love it!

The family compound (a la the Corleone family) would be a great thing, wouldn't it?
My going for my renewal was just the thing to get the guys off the fence. The couple who's joining us are old friends who have talked about CC for a long time, but just never took the opportunity to get it done. When I invited them to join me, they jumped right in.
Cheers,
Rod

We don't have to take the class again in Oregon -- just pay the $60 renewal every 4 years. It's not like you forget your firearms safety once you've been in it for so long. Although any time a firearms safety course is always great, but I'd be ticked if I had to pay for it! It'd be like taking the driving test over again every 4 years and having to pay like 50 or 100 bucks for it on top of permit/license fees just so the government can take some more money.
Sorry for the rant, TERRIFIC NEWS! Great job.
It is utterly illogical to believe that passing laws to reduce gun violence will be successful when those who are commiting the gun violence do not obey the law.
