Thanks AJ

I carry all the time in movie houses here in Colo...
I always thought it would be a great place for a robbery as they have exit doors right there and it would be a perfect place for something like this to happen. and most people going to the movies have ready cash in thier pockets..

Why wouldn't it be legal? Unless the movie theater is legally posted as a no carry establishment, it's legal.

Good to go here in MI. Have done and will continue to do so.

Absolutely every time. Of course, I'm in Oregon.CCW in Movie Theatre?
As for possible rationale behind such statutes, I simply cannot imagine why it would be considered a crime. You go walking down the street, you're fine. But, dare to eat or see a film or do anything where others are known to gather, then you're branded a criminal. Doesn't make sense.
Refer to State Of AZ Title 13 statutes, Ch. 31.

I always carry to movie houses. No one has ever noticed.

It certainly makes since that it wouldn't be an issue. However, I thought while doing some reading I had seen an article about how it was illegal to carry in place's that charged admission. I just can't remember if it was just for open carry or ccw or both.
Actually there is some discussion whether you can in Michigan. Currently you cannot carry in an "entertainment facility that seats more than 2500 people". The gray area is "is this the seating of the theater" or "is it the total seating in the theater complex"? This is a gray area with no precedence at point. I'm not looking to be the first test case, so I only carry in very small theaters, not at the big movie complexes.

Its not on the list here in the State of Florida... so carry where ever you can!
Don't try to read between the lines on this issue the politicians do that for you.
Usually these list on non carry places are pretty clear cut in the laws.
It looks like you're good to go. According to Handgunlaw.us, these are the off limits for AZ:
- Any establishment licensed to serve alcohol for onpremises consumption (e.g., a bar or restaurant, but not a liquor store or supermarket that sells alcoholic beverages in sealed containers).
- Any establishment or event open to the public where the operator makes a reasonable request for you to give them custody or remove the weapon from the premises. A sign would qualify for such request. By law, cities and counties are required to offer onsite storage if they ban weapons but not all are in compliance.
- The grounds of any public school, other than the parking lot. In order to be legal in the parking lot the weapon must be unloaded, and, if left in an unattended vehicle, such vehicle must be locked and the weapon out of sight.
- State universities and community colleges. Communitycollege parking lots are treated like those of public schools.
- Commercial nuclear or hydroelectric generating stations.
- Polling places on Election Day.
- Correctional facilities (this includes the parking lot of such facilities).
- Game refuges (except during an authorized hunt).
In my completely non-lawyer estimation, a theater is not an event open to the public because it is restricted to ticket holders. If it does count, just go to theaters without signs. Anyone who practices law in AZ want to chime in on this?
At least here in Texas, unless posted it is not a problem.

Sadly, it's not in GA. Try to figure this one out:
Is a movie theater OK? How about a concert? A Little League game?O.C.G.A. § 16-11-127
Carrying deadly weapons to or at public gatherings; affirmative defenses
(a) Except as provided in Code Section 16-11-127.1, a person is guilty of a misdemeanor when he or she carries to or while at a public gathering any explosive compound, firearm, or knife designed for the purpose of offense and defense.
(b) For the purpose of this Code section, "public gathering" shall include, but shall not be limited to, athletic or sporting events, churches or church functions, political rallies or functions, publicly owned or operated buildings, or establishments at which alcoholic beverages are sold for consumption on the premises. Nothing in this Code section shall otherwise prohibit the carrying of a firearm in any other public place by a person licensed or permitted to carry such firearm by this part.
This paragraph is probably the worst part of GA carry law.
BTW, The alcohol part changes July,1.
