Check around at your local ranges and gun shops and see if they know of someone that's qualified. Out of state Utah permits are very popular and you would be suprised where Utah instructors turn up.

    You need a course from a Utah certified instructor. Here's a link to a list of out-of-state instructors . . . http://www.bci.utah.gov/CFP/insoutstate.pdf
There is probably one near you.

When did Utah become an open carry state? Last I checked they weren't, but I may be wrong. I hope that is the case now.

However, I do agree that the harassment issue is not the norm, but better safe than sorry. There are always those cases you want to avoid when possible.

I'm just curious why you applied for Utah permit when the Missouri permit reciprocates pretty much the same as Utah's.

I used the information on Handgunlaw.us to decide which non-resident permit to apply for . . . there was no information on Missouri. For me . . . Ohio . . . the results are exactly the same.

I used Utah simply due to economics. $69 for a 5 year permit vs 100 for a 3 year permit. Utah is $10 to renew, missoui is 50 (i think). So i can get a utah permit for 20 years for the same amount of money MO is for 3

Utah permit arrived today. It was mailed 58 days after check was cashed.
