Cargo type shorts/which have deep pockets?

In the summer I like to wear cargo type shorts.I like to carry my S&W 340 PD in my front pocekt in a pocker holster. My problem is the pockets are not deep enough and the butt of the gun partially stick out of the pocket. Does anybody make cargo style shorts with deep front pockets? any help is appreciated.

The 5.11 pants (both full length and shorts) have deep cargo pockets. The NRA store has the shorts for only $30, too.

You basically have to try them on w/ your gun. I just did this at a store called Platos Closet, they sell gently used clothing. It is for a more younger crowd, but brands such as hollister, american eagle, etc. all have cargo shorts. Good luck

I'm not thrilled with 5.11. Still not deep enough pockets.

I've found the best were at Costco/Sam's Club, made by Union Bay. Both shorts and their full-length pants have nice deep cargo pockets. You can almost carry a VW Bug in them.

I like the Wrangler cargo pants and shorts from wal-mart. they have deep enough pockets for pocket carry and (this was the selling point for me), the back pockets don't have a flap. Also, they're only like $15-18/pair.

If you carry in Condition 3, you have two empty chambers. One in the weapon...the other between your ears.

Take a look at the shorts offered by Rogue Elite.
They are one of our forum sponsors.

I'm wearing a pair right now.
GREAT POCKETS and lots of them....and great velcro pocket closures that don't scrunch all up and turn crappy when you wash them.
Plus...the 2 back pockets are also very deep.

Also try Kohl's "Croft & Barrow". I carry a G26 in mine. Here's one of their "Dockers" too, about the same, and cheap too:

Just got back from Kohls. These cargo pants rule the roost when it comes to pocket carry ( which I'm not crazy about, but the option is there ). They are made by Columbia. They are "Cliff Lakes ll shorts.
The regular pocket goes all the way behind the cargo pocket. I've never found any pants I can properly pocket carry even my 642 in without the grip peeking out from the pocket. To demonstrate , in the first picture I have a gun in the pocket, in the second picture you can see it's a 38 with a 4 inch barrel. WOW! Now I certainly wouldn't pocket carry this gun, but it proves the point quite well.
These shorts have the adjustable waistband and a third pocket behind the regular pocket on the right side. These are a ccw holders dream. They were on sale for $25.00, down from $35.00 I believe.
A little pricey, but they fit the bill.

I honestly just marvel at how one can place a pistol in a " cargo " pocket , much less deal with the weight down there whacking ya on the leg . I do pocket carry but mine is either front or back main pocket , and my wranglers are big enough ( barely ) to fit a pm9 , and my id in a thin folder in the same pocket . The ID breaks the line of the pistol .

IF I pocket carry, which I normally dont, I carry in the top pocket.. The pants I illustrated shows the "top pocket" goes behind the cargo pocket. I would never carry in the cargo pocket and I don't think most people that wear cargos do so either.

The pockets aren't really any wider than most regular pockets so the gun stays in place. I tried my 642 in a Mika holster and it stays put. Only pants I've found that I could truely pocket carry in with no worries....

Wow! Those could darn near cover a SBR

I like those better than the ones I mentioned. I'll look at the outlet store on-line!

I carry in the slash pocket only, also.
