Did they make a super big deal about his military experience, or say he "subdued" the bank robber. Typical Media slant. Just curious.

Video is here: Breaking News | Latest News | Current News - FOXNews.com

And now that I have watched it...pretty good. Shep mentions the Army time, but only once and doesn't dwell on it. He also mentions several times that Fawzi was legally carrying a concealed weapon with a permit. Good coverage for the Hero of the Day!

So I wonder if this would be legal in all states, to stop a bank robbery if the robber isn't directly threatening you?

The perp threatened that he had a bomb wrapped around his waist. I'd say that this would threaten EVERYONE in the bank.

MA and NH allow CCW in banks.

Only bad thing he did was claim he was a LEO when the perp asked him if he was a cop. That could get the hero jail time in MA (impersonating a police officer).

I don't know about your state, but in Georgia and other states like Texas etc, anyone committing a forcible felony
any felony which involves the use or threat of physical force or violence against a person.
    Forcible Felony
opens to door for a legally armed citizen to use deadly force, this goes for 3rd party members as well as first person.

It's a forcible felony in Florida, so you'd be good to go here.

Blame it on Sixto - now that is a viable plan.

Same in PA. There is no rule against CC in banks here.

I believe he'd be OK in Tennessee as well. And I think that a guy who says he has a bomb strapped to his person and will set it off if he isn't given something is definitely presenting a threat of grave bodily harm or death to anyone in the area. So I believe that I would do the same thing after taking a quick survey of the bank and making sure there were no accomplices with the initial robber.

But, if that is the robber in the video, he doesn't really look like the brightest bulb if you know what I mean. Looks like a drunk who needs the money for his next bottle of Mad Dog 20/20.

I must have missed it (probably because I never watch). Please let me know if Katie Couric congratulated this guy?
