SC CCW reciprosity with Virginia?
Any word on what SLED is going to do with the new reciprosity law, and whether Virginia's training will be accepted by them?

No word yet, THIS was the last I've heard on it:

VA-Alert: Wah-hoo! SC changes reciprocity laws!!!
From Phillip Van Cleave:
The Governor of South Carolina has just signed a bill that will open up reciprocity to any state that honors South Carolina!
The law becomes effective IMMEDIATELY and is now in force.
Virginia ALREADY honors South Carolina, so formal reciprocity should be a slam-dunk!!!
HOWEVER, it is not in affect yet. So **DO NOT carry concealed** in
South Carolina until I put the word out (Virginia and South Carolina
have to sign a reciprocity agreement first).

Nothing on it yet on the SLED website or anywhere else. It is in effect but you could get charged and have to go to court to get it thrown out.
From my sources the ones that will be added include VA, FL, WV, NV and several more. GA is not going to be one.

FN1910 -- Your information is encouraging. I hope that VA is included in the final SLED list. I have to go to SC in early August. Thanks.

I'm sure one of the numerous VCDL members on this forum will post a thread as soon as it is official with SC, because Philip V. will likely send out an email alert as soon as he gets the word.

JeffLrrp, in SC it is legal to have a loaded weapon in your vehicle whether you have a CCW or not. It has to be in a glove box or console and doesn't have to be locked.
I live just outside Myrtle Beach and I just returned from the Virginia mountains after spending the 4th with my family and friends.
Last Sunday, my wife and I were traveling back to South Carolina from a weekend trip to the Virginia mountains. We were on my HD ElectraGlide and smack dab in the middle of BFE, I had a flat tire. And of course, I was in an area with no cell phone reception. So, no choice but to wait until someone stopped by. After a short while, someone did stop by and they had a different phone carrier and let me make a few calls to get one of my buddies to come and get us. It was a comforting feeling to know that I had my G26 IWB and my P3AT in my rear pocket.
