I hope everyone on this forum and everyone who owns a gun is a member of the NRA, gives to the NRA legal team and responds everytime the NRA calls for action. This is the only way we can ever gain ground in the war on guns.

When the NRA sends me NRA_ILA reports (legal issues needing citizen action) and I respond. Usually they just want me to go to some website and vote in a survey, other times they ask me to draft an email to a congressman, regardless I act when called upon. Beleive me, the anti-gun lobby is well armed with cash and full of crying moms that dramatize situations to play on our sympathies.

It's always easier to do nothing which is why I act.

When the NRA legal team hits me up for cash for a lawsuit they are undertaking I give. Sure its only $10.00 but believe me it helps. All we need is each of the 60+ million gun owners to send $10.00 to the NRA per year or write their congressman or senator one letter per year and we would be a force to be reckoned with. Instead, sadly, we post in forums or complain about the anti-gun movement at lunch with our friends. I say ACT!!!

Our country is being overrun with politically correct socialists who fail to see that there is evil in this world and the only way we will triumph is with a well educated armed citizenry. The bad guys want ignorant unarmed prey not intelligent, well armed would-be victims.

When speaking of the new law, re: allowing people to have firearms in their vehicles at work, they use the same idiotic underlying argument as with all gun control debates.

Now the gun is readily accessable, so if someone gets mad at work, they can just go to the car, get a gun and start killing their boss and co-workers.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again just to make myself feel better. The underlying assumption here is that the average everday citizen is a potential mass murderer, who is walking around on the verge of a killing spree and the only thing stopping them from doing it is access to a firearm.

This shows you the elitist attitude of these people. They know what needs to be done to keep you safe from yourself, becuase you don't have the ability to control your actions, especially in the presence of a firearm. Absolute balderdash!

I've come to believe that is exactly why a (sizeable) precentage of these groups fear and hate firearms and those who own/carry them.
'They" think if they had access to a gun when 'they' get cut-off in traffic, threatened while in the checkout line, or fired from thier job......
'they' feel they'd 'lose it' and go on a sheep hunt.

Like sgtD stated....... it's the elitist attitude of the ignorant.

I'm glad we all know that the Brady Reports are INVERSELY related to safety:

NRA-ILA :: Legislation

* California, the state that has the most gun control and received Brady's highest score (79), has violent crime and murder rates that are 14% and 23% higher, respectively, compared to the rest of the country.

* Brady didn't bother giving a score to Washington, D.C., which has more gun control than California and even higher crime rates.

* Most of the 38 states that Brady gave 20 or fewer points to, have total violent crime, murder, and robbery rates that are below the national rates.

* For states that have total violent crime, murder, and robbery rates that are below the national rates, Brady gave average scores of 19, 19, and 14, respectively.

Gun control is NOT crime control. It appears now that gun control is crime support. Impossing restrictions on individuals' rights to self defense makes for a dangerous state. The guberment can't be responsible for everybody, and blissninny reporters like this just don't want to face the reality that they are supposed to be watching out for themselves. They want to stick their heads in the sand and hope somebody will take care of them. LAME.

Agreed, can you imagine Rosie O'Donnel with a gun in hand while Elizabeth Hasselback points out the idiocy of Rosie's statements.

Even Baba Wawa (Barbara Walters) said in her book that Rosie is unstable and has mental problems. Heck she's on meds for it IIRC.
