Florida CHP... 7 years!
Woohoo! Got my Florida permit in the mail on Friday, only 45 days door to door! I looked at the card and it said valid 6/24/08 - 6/24/15
7 years? So I logged into Florida's licensing website which now says this!
Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearm Licenses issued on or after Wednesday, June 11, 2008, are valid for a period of seven years.
Nice!
Also did my Walmart walk today, they didn't have any nachos though :(

Same here in Tennessee. I'd like to see all states offer a lifetime permit though.

I have yet to buy a gun here in Florida since I moved. Do you need to go through the NCIS check like I did in NY? I was always getting holds and would like to know so I can plan my purchase to include a 2 or 3 day hold.

My Florida Permit is only for 5 years. I got mine last year. Thats OK though, it was still a lot cheaper then it would of been for me to get a TX. permit, and it means the same thing, that I can carry...

The down side of the 7 year permit is that the CWFL will no longer substitute for the NICS check.
