Funny reading your size comments. I am 6" 1" (I shrunk and inch four years ago when I flattened three disks and herniated two others in a single lift, I was 6" 2") and am down to 200 even. I have never thought of myself as being big but I have had others comment on my size. I guess it is all relative.

I have had the opportunity to be trained by the military to fight, but at the same time I have come to understand this. You can have all the hand to hand training in the world and still lose the fight. Many people depend on training and forget about the will, desire, courage and just plain ol' I am gonna live mentality. I say have the mind set to survive and yes if possible get the training.
However, it is not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog. I say if the pistol is empty and you are left with the knife go balistic and remember all the warm things you will miss if you lose, wife, kids, Christmas. Then fight......fight , fight, fight...and regardless keep this mentality even when squeezing off your first to last round.
Listen, Think and React.....Nuff Said.....

BigJon, I have heard of a couple of places that do immersion type training. I have not been, so can't give a personal recommendation, but here are the links.
Also, I am in the same boat as you and some others. 6'4" - 240 lb.

Thanks, tech. I've been to Ayoob, not the others. Thanks for the links.

Tis A Quandry
I am 6' 4" and have fluctuated from 250 (College days) to 175 (right before being diagnosed with boder line diabetes) and these days walk around at 210. But, for years have been told "you are one scary SOB" with no idea why!
Still the smallets thing I will cary is an AMT Off-Duty in .45ACP with 5 in the Mag and 1 up the spout.
Possibly it is because of my Father who always said (Do not ever start a fight but, if the other guy starts it; you damn well better finish it).
The older I get, the smarter my Father sounds!
