I;m from S Dak and love it, but AZ should be up there.
Anyone see any overall correlation between this list and gun-friendly States?
If gun bans are good for business, where is NY, CA, IL etc?
Pulled up the CNN article 10 Worst states for starting a business
Attention libertarians! Find out where the cold, dead hand of the state weighs heaviest. Rankings provided by the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council.
10 Worst states for starting a business - 51. Washington D.C. (1) - CNNMoney.com
10 best are all gun friendly and worst are about 80% gun unfriendly. :yup:
Think they might get the connection? :banghead:
Florida, Florida, and Florida.
AZ is a super gun friendly state; however our economy sucks for small business. I don't think it has to do anything with guns (read Air friendly vehicle discount and tremendous amounts of debt)
I lived in SD for 14 years. The CCW laws and process are amazing. I loved the politics and legislation in that state/Rapid City! Great place to carry.
1,4 & 5 of course.
If you're a hunter 1 is best with 4 being close second. Have no idea on 5 actually.
For the type of outdoor activities I like I would put them in the order of 4, 1 & 5. If you don't like the cold then a no brainer to go 5, 4 & 1. S. Dak gets cold man, no way around it. Washington can get cold and nasty east of the Cascades, but between the Olympics and Cascades it's pretty mild. However, nothing will beat Florida that's on my list. Unless you like to ski, then put 4 at the top of the list. You can live where it isn't bad and within an hour or two be at a ski lodge ready to go.

Nevada is also an excellent state for CCW. It's a shall issue state, so if you take the class, complete the requirements, and pass the background check, you'll get your permit. And, unlike states that don't let you carry into bars, you can not only carry, but even drink if you like, as long as you stay under 0.08. Not something that I recommend, but it's legal. And we're starting to get reciprocity with states, more being added frequently. Now, it will be a long time, if ever, before we reach Florida's level as far number of states that accept the permit.
But, we're a great state to live in. Yes, it gets hot here in Vegas, but none of Florida's humidity, which I find horrible. Give me here at 110 rather than Florida at 95 degrees and 95% humidity. So give us serious consideration.
