    They didn't release the name and I don't remember seeing you post anything on the forum over the weekend... You could have just got out of the hospital this morning!

    Just teasing ya JP! I couldn't resist!
    Har! Har! You guys KILL me! I've lived in Pensacola, for about 25 years and have been in that Wal Mart dozens of times - but never as a CCW holder. I will see if the evening news comes up with a name later on. I assure you both my legs are fine. I just hope the gun doesn't turn out to be a Glock.

    AD - curious

    Just curious here -

    a post listed some of the comments in the paper...

    everyone bashing the individual (having zero knowledge of what happened; I agree most probably stupid)... but

    I rarely see indications from anyone that they sent their own comment to the paper to counter the BS spouted by some. Often post a comment here (or other boards), but that's preaching to the choir.

    Take the opportunity to make a point where it counts... when you read ignorant comments in a paper, REPLY!

    I hope WalMart is smart enough not to get on the "No Guns" band wagon. With recent articles about how their parking lots are a crime magnet, they would be opening up a very nasty can of worms.

    This same thing recently happened at Disney World in Orlando.
    If Wally & the Mouse get together to prevent this from happening again, the NRA is gonna go broke trying to fight them.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    A man accidentally shot himself in the leg Friday evening in the Wal-Mart on Pensacola Boulevard south of West Nine Mile Road, authorities said.
    The Escambia County Sheriff's Office responded to the store about 9:20 p.m.
    The man, whose identity was not available Friday evening, had a concealed-weapon permit, and the weapon accidentally discharged, a Sheriff's Office dispatch supervisor said.
    The man was transported to West Florida Hospital.
    The extent of his injuries was not available Friday evening.
    Wal-Mart officials would not confirm that a shooting occurred in the store and referred all questions to the company's home office in Arkansas.
    This may be it for carrying handguns at Wal-Mart. I read in the Open Carry forum that a West Valley City, Utah Wal-Mart installed a metal detector at the entrance.
    I'm sure the metal detectors would go off with every single person, they can go pound sand if they want to try to frisk. I don't know about the Walmart near you, but the ones around here are far from sterile(in more ways than one).
    Then all of us would buy our ammo and nachos at K-Mart.
