    "Employer" space on CCW Application?

I'm working right now on getting my CCW (NH). I have to fill out my current employer, but I just graduated school and so am in between employers. What do I put there?

I could put US Army, but even with that I haven't been assigned to a unit yet, and won't be for a few months. So I don't think that will work.

    Not still taking classes.

I'm assuming they can't deny based on job status then?

It's NH.... You could probably put "I plead the fifth" in that space and still get approved.

Well, I wouldn't test the waters by putting down "drug dealer" or "Methamphetamine Manufacturing & Distribution"

If you're going into the Army, won't that be your employer? Reserves?

    I'd put 'student/Army Reserves'...

If you have a signed contract with the US Army, then list them and if an address is required or POC put down whoever you have been dealing with. Or you could put down pending assignment for the address. If you do not have a contract then just write in seeking employment or newly graduated student. None of those should be a problem.

You need to be honest on a CCW application, so be honest!!!
Put Currently unemployed, awaiting deployment, etc.... just be honest.

If you put down, "Self employed" would they have any reason to question it?

It doesn't matter - they can't base the decision to issue a concealed handgun license off of whether or not he's getting paychecks at the time.

Honesty above all when it comes to these things. Lies or twists, no matter how small, will bite you harder, and faster, in the rear than you can imagine.

Again.........N/A. If you are currently unemployed, then that's the answer I would give. It seems rather simple. Employer means who you work for now. Not in the future, not in the past. If you don't currently work for anyone legally, then N/A is the only answer, and I don't think that will deter the process in any way.

    Case in point:

I think they DO use this question to screen...

NH used to be a 10-day turn around, now they are at about 70 days.

If you put down "none" they may recruit you to work for them and start processing pistol applications :-)
