    Packin' during the Grand March

Just got back from a Czech wedding in Ennis, TX and I was sitting at the reception drinking my Coke and wishing it was a beer when all of a sudden the Grand March started and my Wife drug me out to line up. About half way through, when the arch begins and you walk under it I remembered that many times people will poke and pinch you as you walk through the arch of arms. I immediately dropped my right arm to my side as I bent over to go through the arch.

I can see it now, someone trying to pinch me on my love handles and getting a finger full of grip.

I'll tell you one thing more. If you want to practice on protecting your strong side and doing the hug trick where you hug low on th strong side, go to a Catholic Czech wedding. There are people hugging and squeezing by the tables set out so much that you will have plenty of time to test your hug and stance. I had to keep hitting the head to look in the mirror to make sure my shirt was still tucked in (Crossbreeds rock!).

Man, imagine if you were one of those guys who walks around strapped with a Sigpro 2340 cocked but not locked (there being no safety)? If some groper managed to snag the trigger, there'd could be a couple of canceled czechs up in that piece.

I'm ticklish and tend to get involuntarily violent when poked... Thanks for the warning about Czech parties. I'll leave the .45 at home and stick to Jewish parties.
The preceding post may contain sarcasm; it's just better that way. However, it is still intended with construction and with the Love of my L-rd Y'shua.

Those are DA/SA firearms they are not designed to carry cocked

I know. It's an inherently unsafe practice. But it seems someone may have some lingering doubts as to why this shouldn't be done:

I was just saying, this would seem to be a particularly ill-advised thing to do at Catholic Czech weddings (at least as to my extemely limited understanding of them, which is admittedly based 100% on the OP's description).

Since it was a Czech wedding, I hope you were carrying a CZ pistol!!

What is really funny is I am Baptist and they all know it, so when I am not carrying and I have a beer they get these goofy looks on their faces.

And No, no CZ pistols for me only my SW40VE. Now if someone would want to donate one, I'll gladly carry ti the next time
