    Thumbs up

Always keep it on you. Always. Having it on the mantle, in the car, elsewhere ... none of that's going to help if something goes down.

Kudos for keeping a cool head. It saved their lives, that day.

I thought the guy and the reporter had a good interview. The guy seemed to do a thorough job explaining each detail; although he menioned how much this shooting would affect his life he sure seemed in control of his emotions and thoughts. A salt-of-the-earth type of guy.

Guess two morons just learned that being a thug isn't as glorious as 50 cent and Lil Wayne portray it. Hopefully criminals learn that just because your skinny, fat, gay, straight, black, white doesn't mean your defenseless and doesn't mean you will react in kind. Maybe then they will get a new job that benefits soceity and themselves. Kudos to that man, I for one don't know if I would have the presence of mind to react so perfectly in that situation.

Good for the victim... but I'll bet he doesn't put his weapon on the mantle anymore!

I am 60 and that is why I carry. The punks are targeting us older folks more and more. I know that I can not defend myself are my family like I use to. This will be one older guy (me) that will not be a victim to these punks. And no I am not a member of AARP and their anti-gun stupidity.

I have nothing against people who have children (since he was "getting ready to be a daddy for the first time") when they are young or get their GED but I will say this guy sounded like a typical get it the easy way thug and his family would never admit that. Why is it that the family will always portray these losers as choir boys, start athletes and great students when it is easy to see they are not, they are easy way out losers.
