Some places of business by law or by choice do not let you carry. Bars for example in TN.
My list:
Waffle House, My bank, court house, Etc. I try to do most of my business on line now.
TN banks in general are not a problem either. I'm yet to open carry in my bank, and probably won't, but I haven't gone in there without my 1911 since the day I got my permit.
I don't go to the Old Hickory Mall since I was kicked out. I look forward to the day that I don't go to school anymore because I carry a gun. For now, school involves parking in an adjacent church parking lot.
I cannot think of any place. I go where I need to go whether I can carry or not. Of course I am the exception on the forums as I do not let CCW control where I go or what I do.
If I were worried that there was a high probability of being attacked I would not go there anyway. If I were in the bank and it was robbed I would let it pass unless I thought I was in danger, or shooting started. Never had the problem.
The probability of my bank being robbed the exact time I would be there is so miniscule that I do not have any concern.

Signs here have no weight of law so I don't bother even looking for them.
The only exception is where I work, their policy is very strict. I don't carry there but I do carry to and from work. 5 more years till I retire with 40, I ain't blowin' that one! :hand5:
i don't mean any offense, but what's the difference between you being disarmed and your wife being disarmed? if you have to drive there, why not lock it up in your vehicle?
Some of the hospitals are properly posted, others are improperly posted, which means security thinks they are properly posted. I don't need the hassle. If I have to go late with my wife to the ER (and unfortunately I have a few times lately) the security is coming to the car with us when we leave.
No offense taken, I sit in truck, she goes in gets mail. She's waiting for her LTC then it will be flip the coin on who gives up their weapon to enter the PO.
Never could carry at the courthouse, or in the secure areas of the airport. Have a P.O. box that's not at the U.S. Post Office. I vote by mail. I have a CHL. I go to states that don't recognize my coverage (OR, UT) extremely rarely. Other than that, I carry where I go and only need to go where I carry.
Since I have become aware of the 30.06 sign and its meaning, I try not to frequent places that are posted whether I am armed or not. Even though it is improperly posted, the Taco Cabana in BCS no longer receives any of my funds.
I've only seen two signs posted in the area of PA where I live...and those are county parks. The first is one that sets behind the police station, and has killer playgounds. :yup: (too bad) The other is, desserted with trails on the Schuylkill river. NO WAY am I going there with my little ones unarmed. What, am I going to 'out run' the bg with a 3 and 4 year old? Yeah right. :frown: So, I just don't go. I do unarm at the first park with the great playgound, but only go with when my husband is there. There are always tons of people, so at least it's not desserted.
§ 6120. Limitation on the regulation of firearms and
ammunition.
(a) General rule.--No county, municipality or township may
in any manner regulate the lawful ownership, possession,
transfer or transportation of firearms, ammunition or ammunition
components when carried or transported for purposes not
prohibited by the laws of this Commonwealth.
Really? I have not eaten at a Waffle House since I stopped being a big fat slob but, I had never noticed a Waffle House posted here in West Tennessee.
What part of TN are you located in TheGiant?
I have had a carry permit for over 18 years now so it has been a long time but, I stopped going to bars when I got my first permit. Here in TN since we can not carry in restaurants that serve alcohol for on site consumption, I generally do not go out to eat in TN except if we are going to "The Cracker Barrel" or to Subway pr something. But, since we live in Shelby County, close to the Mississippi state line, if we want to go out to eat at a nice sit down restaurant, we drive on down to Mississippi. That way we can carry while we eat and the state of TN does not get any of our money since they want us to be disarmed victims while we have dinner.
You know, those signs are a funny thing........I look for them, not intently but I certinly conduct a brief scanning when I go somewhere, and I have yet to see the first one.....at any business. I'm sure thier there though.
I won't carry in a school, courthouse, bar, post office, etc........those places specificly listed as illegal. Otherwise I'm carrying. I do keep up with State laws and follow them.
Bars, night clubs, malls if I can avoid them, Lake Lanier/Allatoona, downtown Atlanta and the whole swaths of ATL west of 75/85, and any place else that I can think of where lots of a-holes can be found that would instantaneously escalate something minor into a violent confrontation or firearm carry is statutorily prohibited by state law.
Businesses that are posted are not good enough to get my money, as usual.
Edit: And, at least temporarily, I avoid the airport
