    Moving......Recommended Steps to Maintain CCW

Will be moving in the next 6 months from KY to NC. Currently have a KY CCW. I obviously do not want a lapse in being able to carry concealed when I move. I'm sure there are those on this forum that have specific recommendations they'd like to share in making a smooth transition? Thanks.

Oh and on a side note, does anyone know if NC gives CCW permits to Fed LEO's without having to go through the class/application hoopla?

If you're a Fed, why do you need a North Carolina carry permit?

The following categories of persons are exempt from the restriction of North Carolina's concealed weapons laws:1.Officers and enlisted personnel of the armed forces of the United Stateswhen in the discharge of their official duties as such and when acting underorders requiring them to carry arms and weapons; 2.Civil and law enforcement officers of the United States.

Not authorized to carry when not on duty. There are lots and lots of Fed LEO departments and all have different rules.
