This is a discussion on True Stories within the Concealed Carry Issues & Discussions forums, part of the Defensive Carry Discussions category; I was glancing through the May_June 2004 Issue when I spotted this little faux pas. It's in the "True Stories" section labeled "Democrats for Guns?".

Sure got by me Al as I recall.
I must admit, any mention of Chicago and I think IL of course - but yeah - even checked on map and that section is indeed IN. Easy mistake to make I guess
I for sure had never actually registered that!

The thing with Chicago is that for it's location, anyplace East of it is either in Lake Michigan, or Indiana. I used to live in that area, so that's why it caught my attention.

F350 - or anyone - please edumicate this new American citizen to the origins of ''Hoosier''.
I am fascinated by some ''origin'' euphemisms - ''Tar Heel'' is another (NC I believe). I have to put up with (ex) Limey

This is what I recall from Indiana history when I was in school. The main thing we were taught then (circa 1966-68) was that "Hoosier" was a contraction of "who's er?" Or "who's there." That's the one I remember most from when I was growing up.
