Bourbon Trail
As some of you may remember, I asked about the laws in Kentucky because I was taking a trip there (well, here)...
Here is something I have not really been able to figure out...
While waiting for tomorrow to come so we can go close on our purchase, we took off today and after some discussion started the bourbon trail... Went to 3 different distillaries today.
Can you carry at a distillary? We went to Jim Beam, Maker's Mark, and Heaven Hills... I left my firearm in my truck because I honestly don't know if I can carry in the distillary, and I already had it with me (not that I would have left it in the motel room anyways)...
Kinda curious.

I visited the Jim Beam this year... good times. Not sure about KY, but in general not a good idea to carry and partake in adult beverages. And why go if you don't sample!

I really don't drink(much). I like the history...
I'll sample, but in the luxury of my own home...

Can you carry at a distillery?
I edited that also...hope you don't mind. So long as the drinks are free, I'd be good to go around these parts too! They're more on the grapes up in these parts, so it's wine tasting instead of whiskey.

You can even carry into a private business that has a posted gunbuster sign without being guilty of a crime.
I love Kentucky.

If they are serving alcoholic drinks, then no, you probably can't carry; that would fall under the same liquor permit as a bar would have.
I agree with the other posters, being legal and a good idea are two different things, I think you made the smart choice. I rather err on the side of caution.

I'm jealous. The only thing i would recommend carrying into the Maker's Mark facility would be a glass, and a couple ice cubes.

Be sure to check out the The Woodford Reserve Distillery in Versailles.

That would be a fun trip to take. We visited our favorite Scotch distilleries a couple of years ago, and the whole process is fascinating. Each distiller has a unique approach. I'm sure that's so for bourbon distillers, as well. Basil Hayden bourbon is really, really good . . .

If I remember correctly, Jack Daniels was in a dry county, so no samples were given. Of course, that was 20 or more years ago, so that might have changed by now.
