I'm heading up there to escape whatever may happen with Gustav.
I've read through the handgun law website.
Anything I really need to know about carrying there?

First off welcome to Georgia and I hope that its a short trip due to Gustav going in another direction. Check out the website below -
Welcome to GeorgiaPacking.org

Well, yea. I'd strongly suggest you acquaint yourself with the concept of "public gathering." Carrying at a public gathering in GA is a serious offense and the penalty for violation of the statute will be a extended, all expense paid trip to the grey bar hotel.Anything I really need to know about carrying there?

Look for the section titled Places Off Limits to Carry. I'd also brush up on deadly force law while your there.
Enjoy your stay while in GA and godspeed getting out of the way of Gustav.

Just be careful. It's still pretty dangerous there. Don't get into a dust-up with the Russian troops.

Good suggestions above. There are very few places you can't carry, just read up and be safe. A list of no carry locations off the top of my head: "public gatherings" (read specifics, I have never attended a "public gathering", post office, federal installations, city/county/state govt buildings, school zones (again, read specifics about transitioning school zones and dropping off children). Hooah!
stay safe and goodluck to you and your family.![]()
