About time someone finally answered the question fully! I am hard pressed to imagine any gun in a decent holder printing enough to be easily detected as a gun if even half an attempt is made. Unless of course your trying to hide it with skin tight spandex, or a body paint style of outfit!
Remember I said printing, not actually exposing the gun itself.
"Gun Free Zones" is where only criminals carry guns.

This happened to me.
Group of us folks were outside talkin politics and such when we got off onto firearms issues. One of my fellow debaters laughed and lifted up the left side of my shirt to show the others that the bulge was infact a weapon.
He was a bit embarrased to see that it was my tens unit. If he had called the police when he'd seen the bulge they would have found that I was indeed carrying on my right side.
Would I have been in trouble? I believe so. Am I being paranoid? I dont think so.

Here is the definition of concealed per NM law/regulation.
" “concealed handgun” means a loaded handgun that is not visible to the ordinary
observations of a reasonable person;"
Since NM is an OC state there is no penalty for the gun not being concealed, except that it must be concealed to go into a store that sells alcohol not for consumption on the premises. Such places are the fast food gas stations and Walmart or grocery stores which sell beer or wine not for consumption on the premises.
If the gun is not concealed it is a fourth degree felony.
It pays to be diligent in concealing the handgun.
Regards,
Jerry

A bulge is a bulge, but when you get that line down the upper receiver everyone except the sheep know its a weapon. I have never been discovered but I take extreme caution to break-up that line. It is not illegal to OC in most situations in CO, but it could be a call "man with gun" from the sheep. In Colorado, University carry is legal but it could result in being ask to leave and not return with your friend.

I was riding a New York City Subway several years ago with a coworker
When the train pulled into the next station and the door opened we were swarmed with LEOs guns drawn, and my friend was dragged onto the station platform. Seems some observant person had mistaken his partially concealed leather eyeglass case on his belt for a holster and dialed 911.
Why do I carry a Gun? Because I can't carry a Cop

Me too. Whenever I get out of the car, or even stand up, I have to perform the "Picard Maneuver"

we can open carry in Indiana, so I carry my 1911's OWB with just a T shirt. Never had a problem, and really don't care if someone else thinks there's a gun there or not.
