Transfer of CCL from one county to another

I am moving from Durham County, NC to Wake County, NC and have a CCL. I want to know what the process and cost is for a transfer of a CCL from one county to the next. I've checked Wake County's website and didn't see anything about transferring a permit. Any thoughts?

I think this is the only requirement:

Any individual who has been issued a valid permit must notify the issuing sheriff of any
permanent change of address within thirty (30) days. If the permit is lost or destroyed,
he/she must notify the issuing sheriff of such loss. The permittee is then eligible to obtain
a duplicate permit by submitting to the sheriff, a notarized statement that the permit was
lost or destroyed and by paying the required duplicate permit fee. N.C. Gen. Stat. 14-

Is it not good for the whole state?

In Georgia, ours covers the state not just the county. I would think that all you need to do is change your address on our DL.

I've had a Georgia CCW for over 10 years now, and when we moved to our new house about 9 years ago, I called to ask if I needed to update the address on my CCW. I was told that as long as we were still within the same county (we were) that it was unnecessary, but if we moved to another county then yes, it had to be re-issued by that county's probate court. I don't know if that requires going through the whole issue/renewal process, or just an update & reprint.

Thanks for the info glock19xdsc. The CCW is good for the whole state, but since it has my address on it, it should contain my new address otherwise it would match what is on my driver's license.

Va permits are issued by the county, it is valid throughout the state though. If you move you are required to do a change of address for your permit, but it is still valid until expiration.
