    Maryland Laws - Concealed Carry

Is there a website specifically telling where and when I can and can't carry? I remember a website from one time, but I can't remember it.

I'm a Correctional Officer here in Southern Maryland so I did get my permit however thanks to my job. I remember the State Police sending me a piece of paper that briefly described something in this situation but I can't find it.

If anyone can help, it'd be much appreciated.

Not always. There are two primary requirements that lots of CO's don't meet (one or the other, or both). 1: Authorized to carry a firearm on duty (some state/agencies their CO's are completely unarmed all the time), 2: Has statutory powers of arrest (lots of CO's do not have arrest powers).

I'm guessing since you're an active CO, the state would've issued a permit with or without LEOSA.
Neon-since you're one of very few MD permit holders, was it easy for you or did you still have to jump through hoops? I'm really curious how the process works since MD(like NJ) seems to be very secretive on the permit process.

I've since moved to Virginia, but my Maryland permit from years ago had the allowable perimeters written right on the permit. Do they not do that anymore?

It was about a 2-3 month process.

I filled out 2 MSP applications, set of fingerprint cards, and the $$ and waited for that time. I got a call from one of the MSP Barricks and they wanted to interview me. 2 Weeks later, I got the permit in the mail.

I know maryland is a pain in the ass state to get one in, but I think me having Law Enforcement behind me, that helped as well. I did however have to get a letter from my Sheriff stating that he approves of me having one.

I guess you can say I'm lucky
