What a weekend!!!!
Saturday - received Conceal Carry Permint. Alexandria, VA - It only took about 25 days of the 45 day required shall issue.
Sunday - spent about 4 hours in the Chantilly VA gun show. I picked up a new PT111 Mil/Pro for $279 and a IWB holster.
Kicking back on the couch flipping back and forth between the race and football.
Doesnt get much better!

Went to the gun show in Chantilly myself today. Cleaning supplys, couple of boxes of 230 gr +P .45 Federal FST and a couple of holsters for my new SIG 1911 RCS. I'm happy, but the checkbook isn't! LOL

Enjoy your new PT111 and your new carry permit.
Carry in good health and avoid trouble when you can.

Now the only thing you can do next weekend to improve upon last weekend is to go the range and shoot a hundred rounds or so...then go home, clean the pistol, kickback with the game...and have your wife bring you dinner again!
The first time you aren't armed and prepared may be the last time you wished you were.

I carry the PT145 Mil Pro. Two things to watch out for. My normal grip on that smallish gun is with my pinky under the magazine. When my wife shot it, it jammed about 80% of the time. When I shot it, 100% flawless. Finally figured out that my pinky was pushing the magazine upwards fully into the gun, while her natural grip would allow the magazine to rest in a lower position against the magazine catch. Sent it back to Taurus and they replaced a couple things, and sent back a free magazine
.
For her it still jammed about 20% of the time, prompting her to replace it with a Glock 27 that she loves. But, like I said, it shoots flawlessly for me, so I carry it.
Second, watch out for the safety. At least on the PT145, (try this with the gun UNLOADED!), if the trigger is depressed slightly when you put the safety on, the safety will go to the safe position, the slide will be locked closed by the safety, but the trigger can still be pulled which would cause the gun to fire. I don't consider it a problem cause I wouldn't put the safety on with a finger on the trigger, but something to be aware of.
