    The wait is over!!!

I guess is only felt like forever. Sent my application for VA non-resident CHP in Aug. 1, received a receipt from them Aug. 11 saying they cashed the check.

    Permit arrived today

Now I don't have to get all those strange looks from the when I walk into Starbucks with a UCII on my belt.

I went for both VA and FL (non-res on both). sent FL in first, got VA back first.

Have been OC'ing for 5 months (I know, took a little while for me to get off my arse and put in the papers for CC), haven't had any problems until yesterday, when some overdressed, pancake make-up hoity-toity old bitty at Starbucks (where they know me by name cuz I go in there almost everyday) got snippy with me and said, loud enough for the entire shop to hear, "You don't see that very often - this isn't the Wild West."

I smiled and said, "I'm not lucky enough to spend my days at the coutry club with you and your friends, I live and work in the real world."

For the perfect Irony, she had just picked up a copy of the local paper in her hand - the lead story of which was about the recent spate of armed home-invasion robberies in the past few weeks and other recent crime.
